Oh my god. The atmosphere of this movie alone was 10/10. Incredible sense of... magnificent dread, and outstanding cinematography. Not even really that scary a movie - incredibly engaging. A series of pretty good metal album covers suspended between too much table-setting without enough suspense or gore or interesting characterizations.
The problem is that Robert Eggers has run out of ways to communicate the existential threat to civilization itself that is a horny teenage girl. I was dazzled, engaged yet barely scared. Fantastic images, pacing, performances
