A series of pretty good metal album covers suspended between too much table-setting without enough suspense or gore or interesting characterizations. The problem is that Robert Eggers has run out of ways to communicate the existential threat to civilization itself that is a horny teenage girl.

While I don't always vibe with the pacing, and at times find the writing to be a bit overly dramatic, overall it's a great show with an intriguing premise and a protagonist that leads with curiosity, love and understanding, even in the darkest of places. Truly what we need these days!
