Your data is yours, and not locked into a silo like on other platforms, thanks to ATProto (the protocol behind Bluesky).
I have stopped working on skylights. You are of course free to continue using it via this page until the API expires or the DB outruns my nimble subscription plan. You can also host it yourself (see source). Alternatively, join me and migrate your Skylights data (lists, ratings, and reviews) to Popfeed. The migration runs entirely in your browser, so there are no timeout limits.
You'll need an app password to run the migration. Your credentials are used only in your browser and never sent to our servers.
the closest we have to a phenomenology of social media. not a cultural history exactly, or at least, there are better ones, but a thoughtful and deeply insightful oral history of what the interpersonal fallacy we call being online has done to our average and collective psyche. essential for anyone who expects to have their opinions about social computing heard in public.
